Additional Resources

If you are in need of help managing your chronic illness, there are some excellent resources available online and in your community that can get you started. Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapists work in many areas to focus on your level of independence and quality of life as a measure of health and wellness. Occupational Therapy seeks to use tools, strategies and a tailored approach to recovery, as part of healing and overall health.

Why are your services only offered virtually?

We have tailored our program to serve clients who struggle with fatigue, sensory overstimulation, headaches, pain, and exercise intolerance. By providing services virtually, we are able to save you energy on travel-time, offer flexible hours, see you in your home environment, eliminate risk of transmitting viral illnesses, and keep costs low for our clients.

Can I see an OT without a formal diagnosis?

Absolutely. Occupational Therapy can provide tailored screening and treatment plans based on your symptoms and goals that do not require a diagnosis from a physician. Your Occupational Therapist can also support you in following a treatment plan that includes both medical treatment and holistic practices.

If you are planning to submit your receipt to an insurance provider, check your coverage first to find out if you need a physician prescription for Occupational Therapy in order to access your coverage.

Do you provide sliding-scale services?

Our Occupational Therapy services are not provided on a sliding-scale at this time. If finances are a barrier to getting the support you need, we can refer you to publicly funded and low-cost options appropriate for you. We can tailor your assessment and treatment to be as supportive or as independent as you would like.
